Oven Baked Stew
2 1/2 lbs. stew meat
8 large carrots
8 medium potatoes
2 stalks of celery
1 package of dry onion soup mix
2 bay leaves
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of celery soup
1- 8oz. can of tomato sauce
In an oven safe pot, brown meat. Add the vegetables. Sprinkle with soup mix and add the bay leaves. Top with the soups and tomato sauce. Cover and bake at 250 degrees for 6-8 hours. Or at 350 degrees for 3-4 hours. It works well a crock pot, too. Serves 8-10.
It's great served with fresh, warm from the oven rolls.
